Course Access: 365 days access
Course Overview

Have you ever lost control of your emotions and done something in the heat of the moment that you later regretted? Perhaps you’ve “lost it” or blown up at someone—your partner or child, work colleague, or perhaps the driver of another car—to such a degree that later, you realized was uncalled for.

If your answer is yes, then you’ve probably been hijacked by your amygdala.

In the classroom –

The Amygdala Regulation room was created to help students regulate their brain and handle their emotions.  Research shows that when children get upset or angry, the amygdala, a part of their brain focused on emotions, becomes flooded with stress hormones.  At that time, the child cannot learn. Just ten to fifteen minutes of focused attention practices such as; breathing exercises, movement, yoga and manipulating textural objects such as play dough and bubble wrap can regulate the child’s brain so the child is once again ready to learn.
